IDI Composites International Remembers Bill Funke
February 12, 1949 - May 25, 2014

The IDI family lost this Memorial Day weekend one of our formative giants with the passing of Bill Funke, our Vice president of Global Sales and Technology.

Bill came to IDI nearly forty years ago in 1976 as a bright and spirited young engineer who over the next decades was instrumental in building what has become today's leading global composites business. Bill's role in the creation of IDI's BMC business and his development of our US, Puerto Rican, UK and Chinese markets are lasting achievements; in more recent years, Bill was dedicated to passing on to the next generation of the IDI family the unique IDI culture which owes much to his outsized personality.

Respected and liked by colleagues, customers and competitors, it was impossible not to have fun working alongside Bill. We'll all miss Bill very much but his legacy will last at IDI.
