Quality Engineer (Internal/Supply Chain)

Reports To: Quality Manager
Pay Classification: Full-time/Salary Exempt
Travel: Up to 15%
Location: Noblesville, Indiana

IDI Composites International is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer who provides technical expertise to ensure product quality. Primary responsibilities require analysis, interpretation or deductions from information and data. Position focus will be on Internal Product Quality and Supplier Quality. Position will coordinate activities with IDI Composites - Customer Quality Engineering to ensure internal work is supporting and satisfying end customer requirements. Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering required.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a Manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on Experience with automotive and transportation industry.

  • Direct experience with ITAF 16949, ISO 9001 Quality Systems

  • Ability to apply a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving.

  • Strong project management skills with mathematical, analytical capabilities.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally at all levels within and outside of the organization.

  • Excellent computer literacy in Microsoft Office, Minitab, ERP and MRP systems.

  • AIAG Core tool experience, APQP, SPC, MSA, PPAP, FMEA.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead internal quality nonconformance investigations and reviews, performing in-depth root cause and corrective/preventive actions through the use of 5Y's, fishbone and other root cause analysis tools.

  • Conduct, analyze, interpret and provide results from statistical analysis studies through available process and product data and information.

  • Manage document control system and procedures relative to the IATF 16949 Quality Management System.

  • Lead change/deviation process relative to the IATF 16949 Quality Management System.

  • Perform audits of internal products and processes relative to the IATF 16949 Quality Management System, utilizing findings to lead corrective actions and continual improvements.

  • Manage Calibration program, Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)/Gage R&R studies.

  • Collaborate with supply chain team on supplier related issues:

    • Lead Supplier Quality System Audits in accordance with IATF 16949 standard.

    • Create, Implement, and maintain incoming material inspection and validation standards.

    • Manage supplier Non-Conformances & evaluation of supplier corrective actions.

    • Provide Guidance with Supplier Quality performance improvement and development according to IATF 16949.
